Historic Preservation Commission

The Historic Preservation Commission was established on January 9, 1991 when the City of Lisbon became a Certified Local Government through the State Historic Preservation Office and the State Historical Society of Iowa.

The purpose of the Lisbon Historic Preservation Commission is to promote the educational, cultural, economic, and general welfare of the public by recognizing and perpetuating sites of historic and cultural significance; and safeguarding the City's historic, aesthetic and cultural heritage.

 

Current Chairs of the Commission, appointed by the Mayor and City Council, include:

Meetings of the Lisbon Historic Preservation Commission are conducted in accordance with the Open Meetings Law of the State of Iowa.  Meetings are held the third Thursday of the month in the council chambers at Lisbon City Hall at 4:30 P.M., unless posted otherwise.
